Market Fresh announces Tyler Phipps Memorial Scholarship Fund
Market Fresh Produce, based in Nixa, MO, has started a scholarship fund in memory of Tyler Phipps, the late son of the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.
A scholarship will be awarded annually to a high school senior going into a field of study with the intention of entering the produce industry, according to Steve Phipps, president and CEO. The first scholarship will be awarded for the 2016-17 academic year. Details and criteria to qualify for this scholarship can be found on Market Fresh’s website www.tylerphippsmemorialfund.org.

Steve Phipps said that throughout his high school and collegiate career, Tyler received numerous accolades for not only his personal dedication to academics and the sport teams he played on, but also his genuine concern with helping his teammates become better as well. That same genuine support bled into his career, where Tyler had a positive impact on his teammates at Market Fresh.
“Tyler loved all aspects of life and to serve others,” Phipps said. “He would be humbly honored to know that this memorial is being established in his memory and the fact that he could continue to serve even after he is gone.
Tyler Phipps died in September during a hunting trip at the age of 30.
