HAB announces staff promotions in finance and marketing
The Hass Avocado Board announced the promotion of Robert Rumph, controller and financial services manager, to vice president of finance, and Gina Widjaja, marketing and communications manager, to director of marketing and communications.

“The passion that Robert and Gina have for the avocado industry and their support of the Hass Avocado Board’s mission and vision has contributed greatly to the growth of the organization,” Emiliano Escobedo, executive director of the Hass Avocado Board, said in a press release. “Their determination and excellent work will continue to propel us forward in our pursuit to strengthen the position of the Hass Avocado industry in the domestic marketplace while increasing consumption for our product.”

Rumph joined the Hass Avocado Board in 2009 as controller and financial services manager. During his tenure, revenue has increased more than 80 percent.
Joining the Hass Avocado Board in 2012 as the marketing and communications manager, Widjaja has focused much of her work on shaping perceptions of the nutritional benefits of avocados in the United States. Her efforts have contributed to making “good for you” the number one reason for purchasing avocados, as reported by consumers.
“As the Hass Avocado Board continues to grow and lead in the discussion around avocados’ nutritional benefits, Robert and Gina will play instrumental roles in assuring that our leadership shapes the way the public views good fats and the beneficial role that avocados play in a healthy eating plan,” Escobedo added.
