EFI names Jennifer Pelayo manager of business development
Equitable Food Initiative has named Jennifer Pelayo as its manager of business development. Pelayo has managed sales and marketing in the produce industry for 15 years.
Most recently serving as a business development manager at Advantage Sales & Marketing, Pelayo has also served as a business manager at Edge Sales & Marketing and Acosta Sales & Marketing.
She is also actively engaged as a volunteer for a number of industry organizations, including the United Fresh Produce Association, the Produce Marketing Association and the Fresh Produce & Floral Council.
“We conducted an extensive search process for people who are committed to developing relationships that will help the produce industry better meet the needs of their workforce and their customers,” Kevin Boyle, director of business development and training at EFI, said in a press release. “Jennifer provided the background and enthusiasm to move the industry into a future that brings value to farmworkers, growers, retailers, and ultimately consumers and their communities.”
“I am eager to begin helping EFI further realize its mission of recognizing the important role of farmworkers in the supply chain, while transforming relationships across the produce industry,” Pelayo said in the release. “As manager of business development, I look forward to sharing the benefits of EFI with the national network of retailers, manufacturers and industry organizations that I have built over my career in the produce industry.”
