DeLallo to showcase its new addition to ‘SaladSavors’ line
The George DeLallo Co., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is known for being meticulous about the ingredients it uses in its extensive line of items, including in its extensive “SaladSavors” line.
Zachary Tackett, marketing coordinator for the company, said he looks forward to exhibiting for the first time at the New York Produce Show on Dec. 1-3 in New York City. The company will be at booth No. 329.
George DeLallo’s latest ‘SaladSavors’ gourmet topping addition ‘Tangy.’“We recently launched our latest flavor iteration of ‘SaladSavors’ gourmet toppings,” said Tackett. “Our new ‘Tangy’ addition includes marinated beets, glazed pecans and goat cheese. Just like our other ‘SaladSavors’ toppings, it’s perfectly portioned for a customer’s favorite dressing and selection of greens.”
“SaladSavors,” he added, is the perfect addition to the bagged salad and refrigerated dressing section because it adds incremental dollars to the categories while filling a void with consumers.
The company, in business for over 60 years, demonstrates its passion for great food is indicated in its line, which has a distinct Italian flair. It offers pastas, olives and antipasti, oils and vinegars, pasta sauces, pestos and pizza, in addition to its ever-growing “SaladSavors” line, which now includes more than half a dozen flavor mixtures to meet virtually every consumer taste bud.
“The George DeLallo Co. has been putting a lot of energy into promoting the entire line of ‘SaladSavors,’” said Tackett. “Increasingly more major retailers are creating new salad destinations in their produce departments, spotlighting lettuces and greens with dressings and toppings.”
“SaladSavors,” he pointed out, serve to enhance these destinations, allowing the produce department to capture the entire sale — not just salad and dressing — with the type of toppings consumers want.
Tackett also stressed that all of The George DeLallo Co.’s “SaladSavors” are produced in a SQF Level 3 certified facility, noting that, “Food safety is everything to us.”
He feels that the New York City location for the New York Produce Show is great.
“Having an event take place in a metropolitan like New York City will always be an efficient way to bring people in the produce world together effectively,” he said. “The Javits Center is a great location.”
