GR Produce launches new brand to enhance U.S. presence
GR Produce Inc., a grower with more than 6,000 acres in six different regions throughout Mexico, has launched a new brand — GRFresh — to help focus efforts on raising its visibility in the United States.
The company's staple items are Roma, round and grape tomatoes, cucumbers, Bell peppers, hot peppers, pecans and pomegranates.
“Our reputation as a grower along with our new brand will help redefine our presence that will closely align us with fresh food production here in the United States,” Tony Incaviglia, vice president of sales, said in a press release.
GRFresh will offer its products through strategically located distribution centers — currently in McAllen, TX, and soon to open in San Antonio, TX.
Industry veteran Danny Canady has been named general manager of the San Antonio facility and will oversee the day-to-day operations. Canady brings very valuable local market knowledge along with nearly 10 years of produce experience in this Texas market.
“Throughout our history, GRUPO GR has been firmly rooted in Mexico’s fresh produce industry," Incaviglia said in the release.
Founded by Juan Gonzalez Reyes 75 years ago, the company continues to prosper in its efforts to affect food supply in North America. The company continues to focus on sustainability, social responsibility and excellence in safe food production.
To complement the new branding, GRFresh will launch a new website, www.grfresh.us, which is currently under construction and will contain food-safety certificates, social responsibility information, consumer trends, product information, category insights and market data, as well as links to its social media pages.
