Malena now marketing ‘Old El Paso’ fresh produce
Malena Produce Inc., a third-generation family-owned farming and produce distribution firm based in Rio Rico, AZ, is now offering fresh produce branded under the “Old El Paso” label. Old El Paso, a share leader in the Mexican aisle in supermarkets, is already well known by U.S. consumers for Mexican meal ideas.
Old El Paso’s new campaign, along with “Old El Paso” produce, is designed to inspire consumers to “start somewhere fresh” on their journey around supermarkets for possibilities that come from fresh Mexican meal ideas.
“We’re excited to offer Old El Paso’s year-round programs starting immediately,” Peter Hayes, vice president of sales and marketing for Malena Produce, said in a press release.
Old El Paso is starting with a full line of traditional Mexican fresh and fresh-processed produce categories uniquely and conveniently packaged for and promoted to consumers who are looking to prepare great tasting, fresh and healthy Mexican meals.
Malena will have a number of “Old El Paso” brand items on display at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit convention in Atlanta, including tomatoes, cucumbers, chili peppers, mini sweets, zucchini, squash and watermelons.
