Christopher Ranch anticipates ample organic garlic to keep customers supplied
Christopher Ranch, a leading garlic producer and distributor of high-quality garlic and other specialty products, has been growing organic products since 1997.
Patsy Ross, marketing manager for the company, said that every year the company works to increase its organic acreage and supply by 10 percent.
“Today our organic line includes garlic, shallots and elephant garlic,” said Ross. “And we offer a full line of organic jarred items including chopped garlic, chopped shallots, chopped ginger and roasted garlic.”

Christopher Ranch grows its entire organic line of products in California.
Bill Christopher is the managing partner of Christopher Ranch. He said the company’s organic program has been growing at a slow and steady pace for the past ten years.
“The cost to grow organic garlic and the risks involved due to rust and other diseases limits the number of acres that are grown,” explained Christopher.
“This year, Christopher Ranch has increased its organic program, and we will have enough product for all our existing customers and possibly a few new ones.”
In addition to its Gilroy facility, the company’s strategically located distribution facilities are located in Los Angeles, Edison, NJ, Chicago, IL, and Pompano Beach, FL, enabling it to distribute to retailers, wholesalers, foodservice distributors and industrial customers nationwide.
The company also distributes its products in Canada and Mexico.
Christopher Ranch is a true steward of the land in its goal of ensuring the continuation of crops from year to year. And it is fully committed to sustainable farming in every aspect of its operation.
Food safety is also of paramount importance to the company. It works continuously to improve and maintain high standards of quality and sanitation in its growing, processing and packing facilities.
“The Organic Market continues to be strong,” offered Ross. “Our continued goal is to have domestic organic items year-round.”
