Fall is a great time for Spice World’s popular garlic
Spice World, a leading grower and distributor of garlic, ginger and a wide line of other herbs and spices, says that if there were a food superhero, fresh garlic would certainly claim the cape.
Cultures all over the world have turned to the health and medicinal benefits of garlic to cure everything from a common cold to the plague.
With its long list of cures, remedies and benefits dating back to the beginning of time, this tiny little orb has racked up quite a reputation. And that does not even touch on how garlic enhances the flavor of every dish it’s used in.
Louis Hymel, director of purchasing and marketing for the Orlando, FL-based company, said that while garlic is used throughout the year, fall brings a major surge in its use.
“We’re always eager to promote garlic, and especially in the fall,” said Hymel. “With the holidays upon us, families and friends have big gatherings, and food is always the main attraction. Garlic is used in a nearly endless list of recipes, and in so many different forms that our customers often promote ready-to-use garlic, such as minced, chopped and roasted, and especially ‘Squeeze Garlic’ in displays, which increase their sales and profits.”
Squeeze Garlic will be exhibiting at the New England Produce Council 2015 Produce and Floral Expo on Sept. 16-18 in Cape Cod, MA. On hand to represent the company will be Chris Whitson, vice president of sales, along with Drew Caneza and Arden Caneza Laughter, both sales executives.
“Our complete line of value-added garlic products, along with the introduction of our latest new product launch, ‘Squeeze Ginger,’ will be on display,” said Hymel.
“Spice World’s presence in the Northeast, and especially in New England, has always been strong,” he continued. “Consumers know our products and they value what they bring to their kitchens. They therefore demand them knowing they’ll gain great satisfaction.”
Spice World’s California harvest was in full swing in mid-August, and Hymel said the company was working around the clock.
“Our imports are arriving steadily from Spain in the meantime, and the market is remaining strong,” Hymel noted.
