'Fruitkraze' brand now distributed from new facility
“Fruitkraze,” the Accel Services LLC brand in the wholesale fruit and vegetable market, will now be distributed from the company’s new cutting-edge facility in Valley Cottage, NY.
Currently, the “FruitKraze” line includes avocados, lemons, oranges, pineapples, grapes, mangos, watermelon, limes, peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, bananas and chayote. The items are produced in Mexico, Texas, California, Florida, Chile, Peru, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.
Celebrating at the grand opening of the new Accel Services facility in Valley Cottage, NY, were Philip Reich, CEO; Lucy Redzeposki, Rockland County, NY, director of economic growth; Karis Lee of New Tang Dynasty TV; and Mike Felix, chief operations officer of Accel Services.
Philip Reich, chief executive officer for Accel, said the new facility, which celebrated its grand opening in mid-August, is approximately 14,000 square feet.
“The warehouse is over two stories high with five bay doors, a 6,400-square-foot refrigerated room and a dry storage area of over 3,000 square feet,” said Reich. “This facility allows Accel to not only use it for cross docking services to distribute loads and breakdowns for our customers’ needs, but it also provides us with the ability to work with others to store their products and assist them with their local distribution and logistics needs.”
Accel Services was founded in 2006 by Reich and Michael Felix, chief operations officer. Reich comes from a business background that has enabled him to create many international relationships from previous business ventures in finance as well as in the wholesale and distribution sectors.
Felix has a long history in the fruit and vegetable industry, including selling on the docks of the Hunts Point Terminal Market. He also established a Green Cart system with New York City under the Bloomberg administration.
“Mike’s family dates back to the days when produce auctions were held on the streets,” said Reich. “His family was also involved in the industry as the produce markets transitioned from Manhattan to the Bronx.”
He added, “When you bite into a FruitKraze product, we want you to believe that you got a quality product from a quality source.”
