Bolthouse Farms names Scott LaPorta president and general manager
Bakersfield, CA-based Bolthouse Farms announced the appointment of Scott LaPorta as president and general manager of the company.
In his new role, LaPorta will oversee the primary leadership of Bolthouse Farms’ sales, research and development, production, and distribution of fresh carrots, dressings, and super- and ultra-premium beverages. Additionally, he will oversee operations, agriculture, quality control and customer service.
LaPorta first joined Bolthouse Farms in 2009 as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Since then, he has established and built highly integrated processes across agricultural operations, from production and quality control to customer service and IT.
In addition, LaPorta led sales within the company’s Natural Ingredients business, as well as the sales and customer management group, managing approximately 20 percent of Bolthouse Farms’ total revenues through regional carrot and CPG retailers. He was also instrumental in leading Bolthouse Farms’ recapitalization, as well as rebuilding the finance, planning and administration functions of the company.
Prior to joining Bolthouse, LaPorta held positions with Levi Strauss, Park Place Entertainment and Hilton Hotels. He earned his master of business administration degree in finance from Vanderbilt University and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.
