Red Jacket Orchards optimizes flavor through tradition
Three generations of the Nicholson family have transformed Red Jacket Orchards from a 100-acre local apple farm into a nationwide brand with more than 1,000 acres of a variety of fruits as well as cold-pressed juices and cider.
Founded in 1958 in Geneva, NY, Red Jacket Orchards has been selling fresh fruit juices for more than five decades and growing over 300,000 bushels of apples and 1.4 million pounds of seasonal summer fruits annually. Some of these fruits include cherries, strawberries, peaches, plums and apricots.
“Nothing compares to the taste of a freshly picked apple," Joe Nicholson of Red Jacket Orchards said in a press release. "When eating one leaves you craving more, we know that we are producing the quality of fruit that our customers expect."
With environmentally sensitive methods in a LEED-certified sustainable juice facility, the company dedicates its efforts to providing customers with a safe, natural and environmentally friendly source to get their produce.
Red Jacket Orchards' line of cold-pressed juices are made by chopping fruit that is then pressed into juice using traditional rack-and-cloth methods. The company’s unfiltered juices even have a unique cloudiness to them because they are so rich in nutrients and flavors that often get cooked out by most other juicers.
