Workshop set for NEPC's annual expo
The New England Produce Council announced July 17 that its 16th annual Produce, Floral & Foodservice Expo will be held this year at the Chatham Bars Inn & Resort on beautiful Cape Cod.
Kevin Coupe, a food industry expert, journalist and author, will be presenting to the group at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, on the topic, What's the Future? How People, Technology & Culture Are Reshaping the Competitive Landscape.
As a follow-up to Coupe's presentation, there will be a panel discussion, featuring industry experts representing all segments of the produce industry. On the panel will be a representative from Ahold USA, FreshPoint, Roche Bros., Hannaford Bros. Co., Bozzuto's Inc. and Peapod.
You won't want to miss this dynamic group of produce professionals as they discuss their views of the future of produce marketing. Later that evening, following the keynote address, please join us for a beachfront clam and lobster bake as the sun sets over Cape Cod.
On Thursday, the expo will feature a massive tent full of vendors featuring their new products. Stop by and connect with existing suppliers and perhaps meet some new ones.
The Friday schedule will include a nutritional marketing seminar presented by Karen Buch, a trusted nutrition expert who delivers practical, credible food and nutrition advice to be sure to enhance your sales. As owner and principal consultant at Nutrition Connections LLC, she will present at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, on the topic, Utilizing the Influence of Retail Dietitians in Produce Marketing.
Following the educational seminar, there will be a produce tour of Stop & Shop, Shaw's Supermarkets and Ring Bros. Also, Ocean Spray will be in production at one of its bogs, and those on the tour will stop by for a visit. There will also be time on Friday to enjoy some of Cape Cod's many offerings, such as fishing, whale watching, golf, shopping and spa treatments.
