Potandon looks at current crop finish, new crop outlook
Ralph Schwartz, vice president of marketing, sales & innovation for Potandon Produce LLC, said the company’s staff is geared up to talk about the finish of the current produce season and give visitors a glimpse of the outlook for the new crop at this year’s PMA Foodservice Conference & Expo.
The company is one of North America’s premier suppliers of premium potatoes and onions. Headquartered in Idaho Falls, ID, Potandon is the sales agent for a grower network found in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, North Dakota and Arizona.
In addition to fresh product, Potandon’s extensive offerings include lines of specialty and value-added items.
“We have strong relationships with multiple co-packers and in-market re-packer distributors throughout the United States,” the company’s website states. “This extensive and flexible sourcing network allows us, in an unparalleled way, to consistently offer all major varieties of potatoes and onions on a year-round basis, regardless of weather or transportation complications, quality issues or unanticipated spikes in demand. With the significant volume of product supply and utilization of multiple packing facilities throughout the United States, we can offer superior customer service and logistics to all customers throughout the country.”
Visitors to Booth No. 81 will have a chance to speak with Jamey Higham, vice president of sales; Stephanie Bench, foodservice sales manager; Travis Hess, wholesale sales manager; and Chris Woo, onion sales manager.
Schwartz was asked why the venue is important to Potandon. “It give us an opportunity to meet face to face with customers that are decision makers,” he told The Produce News. “It’s a shorter show that is focused, crowded, and well worth the time and cost.”
