Giumarra Wenatchee is marketing its line of New Zealand apples, pears and Meyer lemons throughout summer.
“The growing season for New Zealand has been optimal, and our Meyer lemons have good coloring and size,” Jason Bushong, division manager for Giumarra Wenatchee, said in a press release.
“We are excited to debut our new 'Nature’s Partner' branded one-pound handle bag. This packaging continues to enhance the volume per purchase for many applications in the kitchen and entertaining.”
Crop timing is slightly ahead of years past, with air shipments currently available. Vessel shipments subsequently arrive the first week of July. The Meyer lemons are available on both coasts and the season will conclude in September.
Giumarra Wenatchee is also offering its line of new crop New Zealand-grown apples, spearheaded by Lemonade, exclusively grown by Yummy Fruit Co. of New Zealand.
“This is our third year selling Lemonade in the North American market,” Bushong said in the release. “We are also excited to introduce the DIVA apple. DIVA is a high-Brix, firm, high red-colored apple that will be a star in the apple category for the summer months ahead.” DIVA is unique to New Zealand.
Giumarra’s apple lineup also includes Fuji, Gala, Braeburn, Granny Smith, Cripps Pink and Red Delicious. For pears, Giumarra will offer Comice, Taylor’s Gold and Angélys varieties.
“We see retail success when sampling our unique varieties, such as with the Lemonade apple and Angélys pear,” Scott Ross, eastern region business manager for Giumarra, said in the press release. “Consumers really connect to new flavors of their favorite items.”
Giumarra offers a range of promotional tools for its customers, including point-of-sale materials and in-store event planning.
