Mann’s Power Blend a mix of superfoods
Mann Packing has created an all-new retail Power Blend that contains multiple superfood ingredients — so designated because of their high content of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants — including kale, kohlrabi, Brussels sprouts, Napa cabbage, carrots and broccoli. The new mix is shredded and packed into one convenient bag.
The vegetables in Mann’s Power Blend are washed and ready to use and versatile enough for multiple uses such as salads, stir-fry or juicing.
Mann is a leader in the convenient fresh vegetable business, having introduced products such as Broccolini, Broccoli Cole Slaw and Kalettes.
Having found great success among Mann’s foodservice customers, the company decided to create a retail version but decided to provide the blend on its own so consumers could prepare it as they wish.
“Most super salads in the marketplace come with a designated dressing and condiments," the company said in a press release. "Our foodservice customers wanted the freedom to create their own dish. We heard from consumers they want the same — versatility.”
Mann’s Power Blend is available to customers in the United States and Canada in 10-ounce bags; the suggested retail price is $2.49 to $2.79. Recommended merchandising is with Broccoli Slaw and Rainbow Salad, creating a slaw destination for consumers.
“Power Blend is completely on trend with current restaurant offerings. Now consumers can enjoy it at home as a cold salad, hot sauté or adding it to their favorite juicing recipes,” Kim St. George, director of marketing and communications, said in a press release. “Mann’s Power Blend is the first to include Kohlrabi, a mild, sweet crisp vegetable high in Vitamin C and fiber. Also, Brussels sprouts and kale continue to grow in popularity, and combined with Napa cabbage, broccoli and carrots, this blend is truly nutritious, delicious and has multiple uses.”
