Liberty Fruit Co. holds seventh annual charity golf tournament
Liberty Fruit Co. in Kansas City, KS, held its seventh annual golf tournament to benefit Children's Mercy Hospital on Monday, Sept. 18.
The tournament was held at Tiffany Greens Golf Resort in Kansas City, MO, and approximately 150 golfers participated. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous 70-degree sunny day, despite the brisk wind.
The Caviar family, led by Arnold and Allen Caviar, owner and president og Liberty Fruit, respectively, presented Dorene Shipley, senior director of operations for resource development for Children's Mercy Hospital, with a ceremonial check for $50,000. The actual amount of the total donation was $55,000.
Children's Mercy Hospital has earmarked this donation for research into finding and identifying the cause of child abdominal diseases, which affect thousands of children every year.
