Mann Packing promotes Goforth, hires new account executive
Mann Packing has promoted Danny Goforth, who was part of the company’s customer solutions and sales team, to a new position as district manager for the retail value-added team.
Goforth reports to Terence Billingsley, Western regional business manager, and works with Mann’s broker partners in the West.

Goforth graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2010 with a degree in agricultural business. He previously worked with Colorful Harvest in Salinas, CA. He joined Mann in August 2012 and was part of the company’s three-person Tour de Fresh bike racing team last fall and is a graduate of the most recent Leadership Salinas Valley Class.
“Danny is a strong part of our sales team and this is a natural progression for him and the company,” Jeff Freeman, vice president of retail sales, said in a press release. “We look forward to Danny’s contribution specifically in the area of retail merchandising and category advisement.”
In other personnel news, Mann hired Daniel Alonzo as a new account executive. Alonzo has more than 10 years experience in produce sales; he was most recently with Earthbound Farm.
At Mann, Alonzo will manage accounts within the foodservice, retail and wholesale channels, and provide guidance to junior team members and support to the sales associates. He holds an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and a bachelor’s degree in agriculture business from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
