Landon Donovan to keynote Southern California FPFC Expo
Landon Donovan, retired L.A. Galaxy soccer star, will be the keynote speaker at the annual Southern California Fresh Produce & Floral Council Expo on July 14 at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA. The breakfast program will feature a moderated question and answer session between Donovan and L.A. Galaxy reporter Kelli Tennant, according to a news release.
“Over 1,500 visitors are expected to attend the expo,” Carissa Mace, FPFC president, told The Produce News. “There should be about 30 to 35 floral companies exhibiting and there are still a few booths available; sales are still open.”
Donovan is the former captain of the U.S. men’s national team, a four-time winner of the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year award and the all-time leading goal scorer for the USA. Major League Soccer announced in January it was naming its MVP award after Donovan, making it now known as the Landon Donovan MVP Award.
In addition to the keynote breakfast, the expo will also feature a floral design contest, an awards ceremony and a full day of exhibits from all segments of the floriculture supply chain.
