PMA Fresh Connections: Floral slated for July 9
PMA Fresh Connections: Floral slated for July 9
In a couple of months, floral members from across the supply chain (and nation — the world even) will get together to discuss emerging trends, challenges and opportunities that are of importance to the industry. Importers, exporters, retailers, breeders — you name it, they’ll be here — right in my backyard, Miami, FL.
The event, which is the first of its kind in the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Connections series, is designed for floral professionals, by floral professionals. The agenda was crafted with our specific, complex industry needs in mind.
• How will the fresh floral industry engage with millennials now and in the future?
• How are breeders anticipating and responding to the growers’ and consumers’ needs?
• How will the industry capitalize on social media opportunities like Pinterest?
I look forward to discussing these topics in detail with our thriving community. Personally, I think community is a key word when considering our industry.
While the concept of a tightly-knit supply chain is not exclusive to floral, I believe the passion is special, unique, and positively impacts our ability to build and grow relationships with our counterparts up and down the supply chain. Sometimes, those relationships might be tested by challenges we face — challenges I’ve noted above and others that I haven’t. It’s the ability to address those challenges together as a community that will allow us to grow our business and industry share.
I invite you to join me on July 9 for the event. Let’s connect, let’s exchange ideas, and let’s work together. Find out more about the event’s education and networking opportunities by visiting www.pma.com/events/fresh-connections-floral or contact Becky Roberts at [email protected].
