Atlantic Fresh LLC offering Sonoran seedless watermelons
RIO RICO, AZ — Beyond brokering Mexican produce items from Nogales, Atlantic Fresh Trading LLC offers its own watermelons within its springtime brokered offerings. The seedless watermelons are grown in Obregon, Sonora, and will be on the market from April until the July 4 holiday. In a mid-March interview, Chris Pantoja, who heads the six-person sales office, indicated the 2015 watermelon crop outlook is very good.
The sales team of Atlantic Fresh Trading LLC: Nick Macris, Memo Ocampo, Kiko Hernandez, Chris Pantoja, Jim Huber and Mike Rivera.Pantoja said his company operates as “buyer assistants” and is “oriented to helping buyers.” This involves pre-booking loads and setting ads with produce from Mexico. Atlantic Fresh offers “deals through our buying power to pass on savings to our customers. We help with load schedules, mixers” and provide the right color, size and requisite paperwork. “We provide the best produce for the best price. That is our story,” he said.
This Rio Rico Atlantic Fresh office is affiliated with Atlantic Fresh Trading LLC in Clarks Summit, PA. Pantoja said his office is generally independent of the Pennsylvania headquarters, but primarily receives administrative support from there.
In addition to watermelons, the Rio Rico office is big in Mexican tomatoes and the vegetable line.
Salesman Jim Huber in Rio Rico is a broker of Florida mature green tomatoes. Kiko Hernandez is also in sales as well as heading up quality control.
