Nature Fresh Farms to unveil ‘Sesame Street’ packaging at CPMA Convention & Trade Show
Nature Fresh Farms will be unveiling its “Sesame Street” packaging to the Canadian marketplace at the CPMA Convention & Trade Show on April 15-17 in Montreal.
The packaging line includes “Cookie Monster” theme pre-printed pepper bags and an arrangement of custom themed packaging that includes “Big Bird,” “Elmo,” “Grover,” “Bert & Ernie” and “Oscar the Grouch.”
Chris Veillon, director of marketing for the Leamington, Ontario-based company, a leading greenhouse producer of fresh vegetables, said the company would be exhibiting at Booth No. 623 at the event.
“We will have a sizeable staff representing us at the CPMA Convention & Trade Show,” he said. “In addition to a host of sales and support staff, Peter Quiring, company owner and president; Ray Wowryk, director of business development; and Matt Wowryk, sales representative, will be on hand to greet and meet with customers.
“As the event is being held in the East this year, we expect to see a strong attendance from all the major national chains, especially those who have major branch offices in Montreal,” continued Veillon. “Montreal is a hot bed for markets and distributors, and so we expect to see the show well attended this year.”
He also pointed out that each show that Nature Fresh Farms attends has a unique appeal in some way, shape or form.
“Being in Canada, the CPMA Convention & Trade Show allows us to market ourselves locally to customers,” said Veillon. “We tend to see more buyers and category managers; those who work with the product on a day-to-day basis. We enjoy the CPMA show as it helps us strengthen our brand in Canada, especially when the Canadian production season has just started.”
Nature Fresh Farms produces a wide variety of greenhouse produce comprised of tomatoes, including specialty varieties, green and colored bell peppers, cucumbers, hot peppers and eggplant on a year-round basis.
In January, Nature Fresh Farms announced that it had made a large-scale investment in Northwest Ohio and planned to begin construction on a 175-acre greenhouse facility in Delta, OH, in spring 2015.
In a press release issued on Jan. 5, Quiring announced that expanding its operations to include a U.S. growing facility makes for an exciting time for the company.
“This development will allow us to better serve our Ohio customers with locally grown produce year-round and continue to grow our U.S. operations,” he stated in the release.
“Contingent upon acceptable levels of incentives from the State of Ohio and other government authorities, as well as utility rates agreeable to Nature Fresh, the company is poised to ship its first case of vegetables in December 2015. The greenhouse project will be completed in several phases over the next seven years with a total investment approaching $200 million by the year 2022.”
In the new greenhouse project, Nature Fresh Farms has partnered with Jobs-Ohio, the Regional Growth Partnership, the Fulton County Economic Development Corporation, York Township and the Village of Delta. The Delta, Ohio site was selected due to its easy access to current and future customers as well as proximity to the company’s headquarters.
Nature Fresh Farms is also exploring a partnership with Northstar/Bluescope Steel to utilize carbon dioxide and waste heat from their operations.
This innovative and environmentally beneficial partnership would be one of the first of its kind anywhere in the United States.
