Similarly, those numbers were reported to increase in 2014 by 30.3 percent in sales and 29.5 percent in volume respectively over the previous year.”

“This is a positive outlook on the state of the organic market, and the mushroom industry as a whole,” Litvin added. “We will continue to keep a close eye on it to monitor trends as we grow into the New Year.”
A grower and shipper of fresh mushrooms, Giorgio Fresh has been a certified organic grower for the past decade. It received certification from the Pennsylvania Certified Organic, or PCO, on March 11, 2004. Giorgio is one of the largest growers of organic mushrooms in the country.

Giorgio Fresh’s organic mushrooms are produced primarily at its farms in Berks County, PA. Its operations continue to pass stringent inspections ensuring that it meets U.S. Department of Agriculture National Organic Standards, generally referred to as NOSB.
“We are proud to serve a wide range of customers from retailers to wholesalers, and foodservice operations to industrial consumers,” Litvin explained. “Giorgio distributes to the entire East Coast from Maine to Florida, and west to Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri. We also have a joint shipping venture into Texas from Mexico.”
