Once again, the Washington State Potato Commission and Oregon Potato Commission have joined forces in the planning and execution of the 2015 Washington/Oregon Potato Conference, to be held at the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick, WA, Jan. 27-29. This is the sixth year the two commissions have teamed up, and the venue continues to be well attended.
The Washington-Oregon Potato Conference is one of the premier potato shows in North America, Ryan Holterhoff, director of marketing and industry affairs for WSPC, told The Produce News.
Ryan Holterhoff "Each year, we are able to provide a lineup of speakers that have relevant topics and who cover timely issues that the industry cares about. Everyone who is able to attend the 2015 Washington-Oregon Potato Conference will truly be satisfied with the time they spend at the show. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to visit nearly 150 vendors to see what is new for the 2015 season."
According to Holterhoff, vendor participation continues to grow. The trade show floor has been expanded to accommodate an additional 40 vendors, he commented. Last year's conference hosted more than 100 vendors who serve the Washington-Oregon potato industry.
On the attendance side, Holterhoff said, "We would anticipate around 1,800 or so attendees this year, which would be slightly more than last year's event."
Award-winning investigative journalist and New York Times bestselling author Charles Fishman will deliver the keynote address, The New Age of Water, on Jan. 28.
A host of information about the annual conference and trade show — including the conference schedule, events, location, sponsorship, exhibitors' list and contact link — is available at www.potatoconference.com.
Registration for the conference costs $5. Attendees are encouraged to register online at www.potatoconference.com and can do so up until the start of the show. Registration will also be available onsite, Holterhoff said.
