The Marketing Department marks 15 years
SALINAS, CA — After a distinguished career in the fresh product industry, having worked for industry greats like Tanimura & Antle, D'Arrigo Bros. of California and Naturipe Berry Growers, Nick Pasculli established The Marketing Department in 1999 and is thrilled to have marked its 15th anniversary in October of 2014.
The company is a marketing firm with its roots in agriculture, based here, and employs a full-time staff of 10 professionals from various disciplines, including graphic design, copywriting, Web design, multimedia development, digital advertising and marketing management.
Pasculli, president of TMD, found professional success and longevity for his business by continuously cultivating more names within the TMD client roster. "We've steadily grown our client base by delivering big-agency quality without big-agency overhead," Pasculli said in a Dec. 11 press release. "And we do it without sacrificing quality or capability."
High quality is evidenced by the growing list of industry awards that TMD has garnered for its work. The agency has earned no fewer than 50 awards since 2007, from organizations such as MARCOM International, SUMMIT International, SIAA, Telly and W3 International. Most recently, TMD was awarded a Platinum MARCOM International Award for AndyBoy.com alongside giants like Taco Bell. In addition, Pasculli has repeatedly earned individual recognition at regional and national levels for his leadership and entrepreneurship. One of his prouder awards is the Communications Excellence Award, given by the Points of Light Foundation, started by President George H. Bush.
"We're looking forward to the next 15 years, with an even tighter focus on developing our niche industries and creating the highest-quality work available," Pasculli said in the release.
In addition to producing national-quality, award-winning works, TMD and Pasculli in particular put that same level of commitment and creativity into dozens of non-profit and community groups. Having served on a number of boards, Pasculli's core philosophy is giving back and paying it forward. TMD, in its rich 15-year history, has contributed over $1.5 million in monetary and pro bono contributions to many deserving organizations. "Giving back gives us purpose," Pasculli said.
Looking into the future, TMD's plans include expanding its San Diego County office by adding staff, continuing business development efforts, and looking for additional office space in Monterey County as the company has outgrown its current facilities.
