DeLallo launches new ‘Crisp SaladSavors’ variety just in time for holidays
The George DeLallo Co., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, has launched its new “Crisp SaladSavors” variety just in time for the holidays.
This new flavor combo is an addition to the company’s gourmet salad-topping lineup.
Giuliana Pozzuto, marketing director, said that the company is “ready to rock the produce department yet again” with DeLallo’s new variety of its signature “SaladSavors” salad toppings’ line.
DeLallo’s new variety of its signature ‘SaladSavors’ salad toppings’ line.“’Crisp SaladSavors’ features extra-sharp white cheddar with sweet red apple chips and toasty sliced almonds,” said Pozzuto. “As with other varieties, ‘Crisp’ is sure to take your leafy greens from ordinary to extraordinary, because a busy schedule shouldn’t mean a less-than-amazing salad.”
Including a tasty dressing recipe on the package, DeLallo shared a message that Maple Apple Dijon Vinaigrette is a great way to dress a salad.
“For those new to the ‘SaladSavors’ scene, each variety of ‘SaladSavors’ salad toppings brings together a colorful combination of gourmet ingredients, pairing a featured cheese with complementary antipasti, nuts and dried fruit,” Pozzuto noted. “And it’s perfectly portioned for one bag of lettuce.”
“DeLallo SaladSavors” are available in five additional varieties. They include Zesty, Bold, Sharp, Vibrant and Fresh, all of which are named for their unique flavors.
Zesty is a combination of feta cheese, calamata olives and sweet red peppers. Bold combines gorgonzola, dried pears and almonds for a sweet and savory flavor. Sharp pulls together “Asiago” cheese, marinated artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes. Vibrant includes blue cheese, dried cherries and pecans, and Fresh is made with goat cheese, dried cranberries and walnuts.
“DeLallo Crisp SaladSavors” are now available in select retail locations in the produce section near the bagged salads, and can also be purchased directly from the company’s website: www.delallo.com.
The George DeLallo Co. is a family owned-and-operated Italian foods’ manufacturer and distributor based just outside of Pittsburgh in Jeannette, PA. It was founded with the ideals of offering true authentic Italian foods with integrity and consistency.
In the mid-1940s, George DeLallo began selling Italian grocery items door-to-door in the immigrant neighborhoods of Western Pennsylvania. In 1954, he and his wife, Madeline, established a grocery store in Jeannette specializing in authentic Italian foods. Soon after, they began to develop and sell traditional Italian products under the DeLallo name.
As the years progressed, the retail and wholesale businesses grew. In the 1980s, DeLallo pioneered the olive and antipasti bar concept, which has become a staple of grocery stores around the United States and has revolutionized the American consumers’ experience of table olives and antipasti.
Today, DeLallo’s original Jeannette retail store remains a vibrant and beloved part of the community, and DeLallo products are distributed throughout the country. Whether on traditional Italian grocery items such as olive oil, pasta, vinegars and tomatoes, or on its complete line of cured olives and antipasti, the “DeLallo” label guarantees consumers authenticity, integrity and consistency.
The company’s specialty Italian product line also includes pasta, pasta sauces, olive oils, vinegars, bruschettas and peppers. And it offers a full line of olives and antipasti sourced from all around the world.
“DeLallo believes that the best dishes are made with fresh, simple ingredients, which are the heart of Italy’s celebrated cuisine,” said Pozzuto. “For over 60 years, DeLallo has made it easy to enjoy the best of the Mediterranean. Our company was founded on a passion for great food and generations of family tradition.”
The George DeLallo Co. also works with customers by making marketing opportunities available. It offers online and print media, and its blogs features products, sponsored posts and giveaways.
“Our live events include samplings, cooking events and giveaways,” Pozzuto added.
