Ready or not, here come the holidays
Ready or not, here come the holidays
Well, here it comes, the busy holiday season is upon us — are you ready? Hopefully, you have many things for which to be thankful, not only on Thanksgiving Day, but every day of the year.
In order to assist you with preparations for the hectic upcoming holidays, this edition of Floral Marketing presents photos of Thanksgiving and Christmas floral design ideas; Bill Prescott and Kelvin Frye provide useful information concerning trends and marketing for Valentine’s Day; and Steve Rose and Amanda Dolechek offer timely advice on how to increase balloon sales for greater profits.
Also in this issue, we introduce you to the newly launched Globally Grown initiative, we preview the Tropical Plant Industry Exhibition in Florida in January, and profile a couple of established floral company anniversaries.
October brought a flurry of industry trade shows and conferences, and Frank Biddle and Christine Boldt recap their experiences and impressions of Agriflor in Ecuador. I had the enjoyable opportunity to visit with many floral professionals from all sectors of this diverse industry at the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit in Anaheim, CA, and I really appreciated the conversations and the feedback. We plan to report on the Wholesale Florist & Floral Supplier Association Floral Distribution Conference and the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers Conference in next month’s edition.
In the interest of broadening the scope of our floral coverage, I invite you to continue giving us your input so that we may better serve you in future issues. For that, I will be thankful this Thanksgiving holiday.
