Personal-sized vegetable snack trays new at Foxy Foods
GONZALES, CA -- Foxy Foods has added to its line of fresh vegetable trays with a new personal, single-serving size featuring three different vegetables and Hidden Valley Ranch dressing dip.
The new eight-ounce "Foxy" vegetable snack tray includes broccoli florets, sliced celery sticks and baby carrots, accompanied by a two-ounce container of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing dip.
Designed as a healthy snack alternative, the "Foxy" vegetable snack tray is available nationwide and complements a full line of conventional and organic fresh vegetable trays from Foxy Foods. The new "Foxy" vegetable snack tray comes at a time when many retailers and foodservice outlets are seeking to capitalize on the burgeoning $70 billion snack food industry. According to a recent study conducted by the Cleveland-based Freedonia Group Inc. titled Snack Food Packaging, there is a trend to downsize snack packages through higher value packaging for increased marketing appeal. The trend reflects growing consumer demand for healthy snack ideas available in personal- and single-size packaging.
Additionally, the U.S. Senate Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee is looking to expand the USDA Fruit & Vegetable School Snack Program to thousands of additional children across the country.
"There are tremendous opportunities for the fresh produce industry to make major in-roads in guiding both children and adults to include fresh fruits and vegetables into their daily diets, especially with snacks," Nicholas DaCosta of Foxy Foods said in a statement. "We believe we can offer a healthy alternative to the standard snack fare of chips and cookies. The 'Foxy' vegetable snack tray provides healthy, convenient eating in a single-size serving at an affordable price."
In addition to retail and convenience store outlets, the "Foxy" vegetable snack tray is being offered to fast-food restaurants as well as schools, amusement parks and stadiums. "The early feedback has been tremendous, with many retailers developing snack sections within the produce department, garnering the attention of the 'Grab and Go' consumer," Mr. DaCosta said.
The "Foxy" snack tray includes Hidden Valley dressing dip, which has a 96 percent consumer recognition rate and is ranked as the top-selling ranch dressing in the country.
