Lite-a-Loon LED balloons introduced to U.S. market
They softly light up the environment and have the appearance of colorful, glowing orbs. Lite-a-Loon LED balloons, 11-inch latex balloons with a battery-powered LED light inside, were recently introduced to the U.S. market by burton + BURTON in Bogart, GA.
“The initial launch of the Lite-a-Loon has been great,” Steve Rose, media and communications manager for burton + BURTON, told The Produce News. “Everyone who sees them instantly starts thinking of ways to use them. We’ve heard of people using them in school dances, parties, concerts and other low-light venues.”
Lite-a-Loons can be filled with helium or air, are Hi-Float compatible, can be custom printed, and offer a 20-hour battery life.
“I’ve been impressed with the high quality of the balloons,” Rose said. “We’ve inflated many, many Lite-a-Loons as part of our initial testing of the product and in sales demos around the country in the last few months. The latex balloon is a very good quality balloon and the LED lights are lasting longer than the 20 hours listed on the packaging.”
The bulb for the Lite-a-Loon is attached to the inside top of the balloon, unlike similar light-up balloons that have an LED bulb inserted into the neck, which can affect the seal when tied and increase the chance of air leakage, according to a news release.
“The fact that these can be filled with helium or air makes them versatile,” said Rose. “And adding Hi-Float gives the designer an extended amount of time between setting up for the event and the actual event.”
The Lite-a-Loon has been popular in the European market in recent years and burton + BURTON is the exclusive distributor in the United States. The balloons are available in many colors and patterns, and come in consumer packs of five and decorator packs of 50. Lite-a-Loon balloons retail for around two dollars each.
