Mann Packing to celebrate 75th anniversary at PMA Fresh Summit
Mann Packing, a leading supplier of washed and ready-to-eat vegetables, will celebrate the company's 75th year in business and highlight two products in the new products showcase at PMA Fresh Summit in Anaheim, CA, in Booth No. 1538 of the Salinas Valley Grower Shipper Pavilion.
Mann's veggies and hummus fresh vegetable tray featuring Sabra Classic hummus — a popular dip with kids — will be in the Just 4 Kids showcase and Snap Pea Sensations kits will be featured in the Fresh Summit new product showcase. In addition, Mann's refreshed “Family Favorites” brand and new packaging design is a finalist for the 2014 PMA Impact Award.
As part of the company's yearlong 75th anniversary celebration, three employees are participating in the inaugural Tour de Fresh, a fundraising bike ride from Salinas, CA, to Anaheim.
"It's a great cause that supports something we're all very passionate about at Mann's -- addressing the child obesity issue and doing our part to contribute to the health and well being of children," Craig Grantham, director of sales operations and Mann's Tour de Fresh team captain, said in a press release.
The money raised by the Mann Tour de Fresh team will support salad bars in schools.
To further the celebration and the importance of developing healthy eating habits, "Operation Salad," a special video featuring Mann's Gina Broccolini, will debut during the show.
“Our brand promise is about making healthy eating easy — especially making eating veggies easy — and Operation Salad is a light-hearted look at the importance we need to place as a country on developing better eating habits," Kim St. George, director of marketing and innovation, said in the release.
