Ready Pac announces leadership change
IRWINDALE, CA -- Ready Pac announced July 7 the resignation of Larry Kern, who was president and chief executive officer. Mr. Kern has elected to pursue early retirement from the company. Dennis Gertmenian, Ready Pac's founder and chairman of the board, and Jack Davis, chairman of the executive committee, will assume Mr. Kern's responsibilities.
Ready Pac has nearly completed its plant restructuring that began in late 2005 under the direction of Mr. Kern, resulting in four strategically dispersed plants of scale, each with increased capacity and capabilities to better serve retail and foodservice customers nationally.
"Larry has reshaped our business model and set the stage for dramatic profitable growth for Ready Pac, and I want to sincerely thank him for his contributions these past two years," Mr. Gertmenian said in a statement. "He has upgraded our entire go-to-market approach, including hiring an experienced leadership team which I look forward to working with as we now capitalize on the investments made."
Ready Pac showcased some of its very late new product innovations at the most recent United/FMI event in Chicago, including its range of premium baby leaf "Spinach Temptations," its latest "Fast 'n Fresh" microwaveable vegetable range, and the "Cool Cuts"-"Ready Snax" single serve fruits and vegetables designed for kids.
Additionally, at the latest National Association of Convenience Stores show, Ready Pac's grab 'n go meal entr?e, the "Bistro to Go" Salad Bowl, received the highest marks from the show attendees who rated it as the No. 1 new product at the show.
