Over 20,000 expected at PMA Fresh Summit
The Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Convention & Expo at California’s Anaheim Convention Center Oct. 17-19 has doubled the size of its floral pavilion this year, the organization announced on its website. About 78 flower growers, importers-exporters, bouquet makers, suppliers and shippers had reserved booth spaces as of late August.
Floral education sessions slated for Oct. 17 were identified by PMA in a news release as “Floral Trends: Color is Key” presented by Pantone LLC, and “The Seismic Shift of the Floral Industry” presented by Euromonitor International.
Other floral events at the show will include a Floral Marketer of the Year award ceremony during a floral networking reception Oct. 18 from 5:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Joe Don Zetzsche, director of floral for retailer H-E-B, last year’s winner, will present the 2014 award. Floral firms are also eligible for the Impact Award for Excellence in Packaging.
The Fresh Summit Expo agenda also includes a women’s leadership breakfast, a 5K Race for Talent, a global connections reception and receptions for emerging leaders and young professionals.
The special All Access Pass floral registration package includes the welcoming reception, all general sessions, all workshop series, the Fresh Ideas in Action reception, the floral networking reception, and admission to the exposition hall throughout the show. Cost for early registration before Sept. 12 is $830 for PMA members and $1,245 for non-members. After Sept. 12, the rate is $930 for members and $1395 for non-members.
