Former Fowler & Huntting owner dies at 71
William (Bill) Yandow, a former owner and executive of Fowler & Huntting in Hartford, CT, died May 25 at his home in Florida. He was 71 years old.
William (Bill) YandowA long-time resident of Avon, FL, Mr. Yandow spent his entire produce career at Fowler & Huntting, a company that he and his brother acquired from their father in 1972, where he served as vice president and controller during his tenure. The brothers sold their business to their nephews Kenneth, William, David and Thomas Yandow in 1994. Mr. Yandow remained as a financial adviser until his retirement in 2008. Fowler & Huntting was sold to FreshPoint in 2006.
He is survived by his former wife and lifelong partner Bonnie (Aust) Yandow; his brother's wife, Marilyn Yandow; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Yandow served as Command Sergeant Major in the Connecticut Army National Guard, where he won numerous awards. He was a long-time volunteer fireman in the town of Avon where he lived. His funeral procession was led by all the fire trucks and firemen in Avon.
