“We will be attending this year’s New England Produce Council Produce & Floral Expo 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel & Spa on Sept. 11,” said Jimmy Coppola, account manager and marketing representative for Westmoreland Sales in Leamington, ON. “We invite visitors to stop by and say hello to us at our exhibition booth, number 209, where Tony Cappelli and Lisa Sirizzotti will be greeting visitors.”
Coppola noted that the company will be featuring its new award-winning “TopLine Creations.” This line of packaged greenhouse produce offers the inclusion of olive oil packets.
Coppola said that it’s a perfect item for salad lovers on-the-go, or just to add that little extra touch to make for an unforgettable snack. The product won an award in the Best New Produce category at the 2014 Canadian Produce Marketing Association this year.

Westmoreland Sales is known as a progressive and long-standing greenhouse producer and shipper. Its sustainability and food-safety initiatives are among the highest levels in the industry. It sells its high-quality produce under the “TopLine” brand.
In sustainability, the company practices materials management, greenhouse design that incorporates Integrated Pest Management wherein it uses insects to combat insects rather than relying on pesticides, energy conservation and water recycling.
Coppola pointed out that water conservation is the most cost-effective and environmentally friendly way to reduce the demand for water. Recycling water within its greenhouses not only conserves water, but also protects water quality in waterways that receive its wastewater.
Westmoreland Sales is equally proud of its commitment to food safety. It is Good Agricultural practices and HACCP-certified. It has full product recall and traceability, and also conducts microbiological testing and multi residue analysis.
Coppola stressed that the NEPC Expo is an important event for Westmoreland Sales.
“This expo provides us with the opportunity to see long-time business partners and to meet new ones,” he said. “It’s always nice to get out and spend time with the people that make it all happen.”
