HAB upgrades global produce intranet site
CHICAGO -- In the year-and-a-half since it was launched, avoHQ.com, the Hass Avocado Board's global produce intranet, continues to be a leader in global produce communications. During the United Produce Show, held here May 5-9, the board announced additions to the site that it said will add further functionality to the way data on avocado movement are used.
The new "Reports" section of the site enables users to customize their own reports after signing in and selecting a country of origin, a time period or key measures. The section also provides daily, weekly and monthly snapshots of inventory and wholesale volume, in addition to the weekly arrival traffic reports. Users can print reports in a PDF format.
The other new section on the site -- "Volume" -- allows visitors the option to select fruit by grade, including organic.
"We continue to hear success stories from people in the Hass avocado industry who sign on to avoHQ every day to access real- time data and statistics about the market," said Jose Luis Obregon, managing director of information technology for the board. "[The site] continues to exceed user expectations, and we look forward to continually improving the site based on user feedback. Future improvements include enhanced tracking of key market trends."
AvoHQ.com links the domestic and foreign producers from the five regions that sell Hass avocados in the United States: California, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand and the Dominican Republic. It operates from the state-of-the-art Network Marketing Center in the board's Irvine, CA-based headquarters.
