The Perishable Specialist helps customers deal with Chilean fumigation protocol
Frank Ramos and his wife and partner, Ana, of The Perishable Specialist Inc., a leading customs broker headquartered in Miami, FL, said that the company is available to its customers seven days a week, 24-hours a day, every day of the year.
“Delivering perishables to their destination in the best possible condition means that they must move as quickly and efficiently as humanly possible — and that’s what we mean to accomplish every day of the year,” said Ramos.
The company deals only with perishable imports, making it a highly experienced and knowledgeable brokerage firm, and Chilean imports represent a large part of what it handles for its customers.

“The Perishable Specialist is always ready for any challenges that arise. As I always say, anyone can do it when it’s easy. Give me the hard ones and I will make a believer out of you.”
The husband and wife team shuffle the major responsibilities of clearing imported produce, assuring proper cold storage protocol and working with logistics’ operations.
Ramos explained that The Perishable Specialist is licensed as a Customs Broker by Customs and Border Protection, a division of the Department of Homeland Security specializing in perishables.
“Although our headquarters are in Doral, a section of Miami, we are a remote location filer,” Ramos stressed.
“We are able to clear cargo at all ports of the United States. And although our ‘expertise’ is at Miami International Airport, where we clear perishable air arrivals from all over the world, we also clear containerized ocean cargo at the Port of Miami and Port Everglades, as well as in Philadelphia, Newark, Wilmington, Houston, Long Beach and other ports of entry,” Ramos concluded.
