The Seeley Summit is scheduled for June 22-24, in Lisle, IL, a western Chicago suburb. The topic is “Water: Horticulture’s Next Game Changer?”
The board of Cornell University’s Seeley Conference believes that water availability will be among the greatest challenges facing the floriculture industry in coming years, a news release stated..
Seeley Summits are intended to promote discussion of issues important to commercial floriculture. Attendees are limited to 100 and will interact on relevant issues with water experts and industry leaders.
This year’s speakers include:

• Charles Bauers, owner of Flowers by Bauers in Jarettsville, MD.
• John Lea Cox, professor of nursery research and extension at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD.
• Bob Dolibois, former executive vice president of the American Nursery & Landscape Association in Washington, D.C.
• Al Gerace, chief executive officer of Welby Gardens Co. in Denver.
• Hugh Gramling, former executive director of Tampa Bay Wholesale Growers in Plant City, FL.
• Ron Griffin, professor of water resource economics at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
• Jerry Halamuda, chief executive officer and president of Color Spot Nurseries in Fallbrook, CA.
• Lyn Clancy, water rights attorney and water policy expert in Austin, TX.
• Bill Phillimore, executive vice president of Paramount Farming Co. in Bakersfield, CA.
