Wolter: Canadian connections flourish at convention
The Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s Annual Convention and Trade Show provides Rainier Fruit Co. with the kind of one-on-one connections that promote relationships and boost business. “The CPMA format provides multiple networking opportunities throughout the entire event,” Director of Marketing Suzanne Wolter told The Produce News. “Many of our customers are present not only during exhibition hours, but also at the social events over the three days. The trade show floor is busy, but easily covered so customers have ample time to discuss business.”
Rainier is headquartered in Yakima, WA. Company representatives in attendance at Booth No. 707 are Wolter, Randy Abhold, Craig Barnes, Steve Kuebler and Andy Tudor.
“We’ll discuss our organic apple position for the balance of the season,” Wolter went on to say. “Over the last several years, we have ramped up our organic production in an effort to fulfill ever-increasing retail demand. As such, we have developed the most comprehensive organic apple program in the state with an emphasis on the new mainline and rising star varieties such as Fuji, Honeycrisp and Pink Lady. Additionally, we’ll be holding preliminary discussions about our upcoming blueberry and cherry season.”
In addition to its quality product, Rainier offers customers a variety of packaging designed to move fruit at retail. Rainier has expanded its mesh bag offerings to include Jazz, Pink Lady, Lady Alice, Junami and Honeycrisp apple varieties. “We also are expanding our production of the cherry pouch bags introduced last season,” Wolter added. “We’ll be discussing the program extensively on the show floor.”
