Mastronardi ‘Sunset’ primed for CPMA Convention & Trade Show
Daniela Ferro, communication coordinator for Mastronardi “Sunset,” a leading grower of high-quality greenhouse produce headquartered in Kingsville, ON, will be exhibiting at Booth No. 631 at the CPMA Annual Convention and Trade Show in Vancouver, BC, on April 2-4.
“We will have strong representation from our sales, marketing and packaging team at the show,” said Ferro. “‘Sunset’ will be promoting our line of amazingly sweet tomatoes, which includes the ‘Zima,’ ‘One Sweet’ and ‘Angel Sweet.’
“We will be especially focusing on the ‘Angel Sweet,’ which is one of the sweetest grape tomatoes and, one of our fastest growing products,” she added.
The company also continues to strongly promote its new “Y.E.L.O.” cocktail tomato, which is an acronym for youth, energy, life and “Om” — a mantra and mystical Sanskrit sound, making it the ideal tomato for consumers with healthy eating in mind and in soul. Ferro noted that the “Y.E.L.O.” tomatoes are perfect for those who are looking to add color and high flavor just in time for Easter.
She also explained that CPMA’s Annual Convention and Trade Show attracts over 3,000 participants from all segments of the produce supply chain.
“Produce is showcased from around the world at the event,” said Ferro. “Exhibitors are predominantly from Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Belgium.
“Mastronardi ‘Sunset’ continually looks for opportunities in the produce industry to showcase new and unique products that suit our retailer and consumer needs,” she continued. “By attending the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit and the Canadian Produce Marketing Association expos, we have the advantage and the opportunity to connect with our retailer customers and forecast the market needs on both sides of the border.”
The “Sunset” brand focus has always been on flavorful greenhouse products, and Ferro said that this will continue into the future.
“Our ‘Sunset’ brand is our focal point, and at each trade show we exhibit at we highlight our newest addition to the popular product line, as well as showcasing our many other products,” she said.
The Mastronardi Produce main headquarters in Kingsville has been undergoing a major expansion over the past six months to accommodate its growing business.
“The expanded warehouse will provide additional space for more loading docks and automated processes,” said Ferro.
“Our Coldwater greenhouse in Michigan has broken ground on its expansion project and will be double the size to accommodate our locally grown program there. We expect completion of the expansion project this summer.”
