SuperValu to host its first national sales expo
With grocers from across the country gathered for the 2014 National Grocer’s Association Show this week, SuperValu Inc. announced it will host its first national sales expo, Sales 4 All Seasons, this summer.
The three-day event, which will be held Aug. 12-14 at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, MN, will bring together all of SuperValu’s former regional shows into one major sales and education event.
The event will offer nearly 2,000 independent grocery retailers the opportunity to access SuperValu’s vast supplier network via a sales expo featuring hundreds of exhibits, displays and products for every department and category across the store.
New trends, fresh, new seasonal products and SuperValu’s exclusive promotional buying opportunities will be center stage throughout the three days.
The Sales 4 All Seasons expo will start with an education day featuring numerous training seminars, consumer insights and industry education resources for attending grocers.
“This is going to be a huge event and I’m really excited at the commitment SuperValu and our suppliers are making to our customers by delivering this national show,” Janel Haugarth, SuperValu’s president of independent business, said in a press release. “Our retailers will gain new insights into creative solutions and products that will help them continue to be successful local grocers. The event also provides a valuable networking opportunity with their fellow retailers and experts from our supplier community.”
SuperValu anticipates approximately 3,000 total attendees at the event, ranging from its independent retailers to industry personnel, grocery and food suppliers, and employees.
“Our suppliers will have a unique opportunity to share consumer insights, as well as showcase new products and promotions,” said Haugarth. “Together, this is the type of show that can help our customers set themselves apart from the competition by combining so many great resources and opportunities under one roof. In addition to being a big deal for our customers, we’re very proud to bring this type of event and its economic impact to the Twin Cities.”
SuperValu will also announce winners of its 2014 Master Marketer competition, which celebrates the top marketing campaigns of the company’s independent retailers. This year, competition features nominations from across the nation, and the winners from several categories will be honored at an awards ceremony during the expo.
