ThorPack offers new twin bag and dual head wicket bagger
Bryant, WI-based ThorPack, a global packaging resource, announced two new packaging products that promise to pack in profits for potato producers: the Twin Bag and the TP3600 dual head wicket bagger.
ThorPack, along with its partner, NNZ Inc. of Lawrenceville, GA, now has the capability of providing potato packers with a quality mesh-poly bag at an affordable price.

Dubbed the Twin Bag, one of its main characteristics is its unique mesh bottom wrap. Other mesh-poly bags have the poly wrapping around the bottom of the bag, which can result in the retention of moisture.
The Twin Bag can be manufactured with up to an eight-color process print, different color poly film, as well as several different colors of mesh to choose from. All this helps to identify the variety of potatoes with ease.
In addition, ThorPack and NNZ can provide in-house art design to help with the look of bags.
According to ThorPack, the Twin Bags have been tested on auto- and semi-automatic wicketed baggers and have been proven to function flawlessly. NNZ and ThorPack are prepared to offer stocking programs for customers as needed.
ThorPack, along with its manufacturing partner, ABV Manufaktur of Germany (Managing Partners: Bernd Affeldt & Bjorn Brandt), has developed and introduced the state-of-the-art dual head wicket bagger: the Model TP3600, part of the new Pack It In series of equipment by ThorPack/ABV Manufaktur.
The latest features include the following: Siemens industrial touch screen controls; special swing mounts for bag closer machines and service; linear lift to raise and lower discharge conveyors; stainless steel vibratory in-feed heads; and speeds up to 55 bags per minute. These baggers are capable of filling bag sizes from three-pounds to 20-pounds, either all-poly bags or the new Twin Bag mesh-poly construction by NNZ.
The TP3600 wicket bagger can be coupled with other manufacturers’ weighing machines, including ABV, Sorma, Affeldt, Volmpack, Lockwood, Upmatic, Daumar and Newtec.
Other equipment offered by ThorPack/ABV in the “Pack It In” series includes weighing machines, onion clippers, raschel rollstock baggers, carry fresh baggers, rucking machines, evenflows and custom-built conveyors.
The new TP3600 wicket bagger and the Twin Bag will be at the ThorPack booth at the WPVGA Industry Show on Feb. 4-5 in Stevens Point, WI.
