“We do not exhibit at the New York Produce Show, but we certainly do attend due to the large audience,” Robert A. Goldstein, owner and president of Genpro Inc. in Rutherford, NJ, told The Produce News.
“We are involved in the planning process of the show, and I serve on the board of the Eastern Produce Council,” he said. “Planning this show is therefore a collaborative effort on the part of everyone involved.”
Goldstein also serves as secretary of the EPC. He has been an active officer n the organization for over 10 years and has been an active member over the past 20 years while serving on various committees.
Genpro is a logistics’ specialty firm, and Goldstein also holds active membership and participation with the Transportation Intermediaries Association and the National Association of Small Trucking Cos.
He said the company is currently working on many initiatives.
“Our strategy is in a growth mode in offering transportation and related services to our customers,” said Goldstein. “I support these services to many of the trade professionals who attend the New York Produce Show. As a service provider, the show also helps to keep us updated and linked into trends and changes.”
Goldstein comes from several generations of experience in the transportation industry. He founded Genpro in 1989. The company began as a truck brokerage operation with two employees, specializing in the transport of perishable commodities.
Today, besides its corporate office in Rutherford, the company has five regional operating centers across the United States that manage a diverse mix of perishable and non-perishable freight movements for over 500 customers.
In 2007, in response to its growing business volume and the changing needs of its customer base, Genpro established a Transportation Management Services Team designed to provide all customers with an end-to-end technology-driven service that provides continuous systematic shipment visibility and is supported by a centralized point of contact to proactively address the dynamic needs of the customers’ management team.
Genpro offers several core transportation management programs, each of which can be customized to fit the exact needs of its customers’ transportation and logistics needs. Program offerings can be mixed and matched resulting in tailor-made programs that complement every customer’s supply chain requirements.
Genpro provides transportation management solutions for both perishable and non-perishable freight at competitive prevailing market rates. On-Demand Transportation pricing can be requested for your company’s daily business needs, one-off lane opportunities, or to cover increased load volume not covered within your contractual agreements.
For customers looking to stabilize their rates via contractual pricing, Genpro offers several contract programs based on volume commitments and demand trends.
Genpro’s Managed Services Programs enable companies to outsource specific functions allowing them to focus more on transport strategy and leaving day to day tactical functions for Genpro to manage, or to completely outsource their transportation program enabling them to focus on their core competencies while still retaining strategic overview of the transportation component of their supply chain.
“At Genpro, we value all qualified carriers providing services on our behalf,” said Goldstein.
“The Genpro standard of excellence begins and ends with reliable, responsible transport of customer freight. If you are not currently working with Genpro, you should be in touch with us to learn how we can enhance your service needs.”
