Shaw’s and Star Market introduce new Star Market concept at four stores
Shaw’s and Star Market announced the grand reopening of four Boston-area locations. The Star Market stores all celebrated with official ribbon-cutting ceremonies Nov. 1, and customers were introduced to the new premium offerings with a focus on fresh produce, top-quality meat and seafood and a large selection of products.
“Star Market has a long-standing and recognizable brand throughout the region, and these four stores represent the beginning of the fresh vision we have to build the Star Market brand for the future,” Shane Sampson, president of Shaw’s and Star Market, said in a press release. “A lot of hard work went into the planning and revamp of these locations to ensure we are providing customers the quality products and premium customer service they deserve and expect from us. This is an important first step in our vision to make the Star Market brand the finest supermarket experience for customers, and it’s exciting to see these new locations come to fruition.”
To bring the Star Market vision to life, the company made significant investments in the stores, including new layouts and color palettes, updated food cases and the addition of express lanes for more personal service. The new Star Market concept places an emphasis on high-quality fresh foods, and customers will experience in many departments, including a larger selection of the freshest produce, expanded offerings of organic and local produce, and more fresh-cut fruits and vegetables.
As part of the grand reopening celebration, Star Market made $8,000 in donations to local organizations, including $2,000 each to the Belmont Food Pantry, Boys & Girls Clubs of Dorchester, The Sean A. Collier Memorial Fund and the Haggerty School in Cambridge.
“We’re proud to be part of the communities where we operate, and are especially proud to be able to offer these new store experiences,” said Sampson. “Our customers are the only reason that our doors open every day and we feel it’s our job to give everyone a great shopping experience and premium customer service they deserve.”
