New Crunch Pak slices tease with a tropical twist
Put on your best Hawaiian shirt and prepare to have your taste buds dazzled at booth 115 during the PMA Foodservice Conference & Expo. Tony Freytag, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Crunch Pak LLC, said the firm will showcase its newest value-added item, peach mango apple slices. “You get the crunchiness and richness of an apple,” he said, adding that the apple slices are infused with a peach mango tropical twist.
The company, headquartered in Cashmere, WA, was founded in 2000 and provides foodservice and retail customers with an array of value-added conventional and organic apple slices. Crunch Pak offers a family of brands such as Crunch Pak, Crunch Pak Organic and Disney/Crunch Pak. With plants in Washington and Pennsylvania, Crunch Pak markets more than a million apple slices annually.
Company representatives available during the show include Freytag; Bob Cummings, national sales manager; Tim Befalls, western regional manager; and Krista Jones, part of the Crunch Pak marketing and product development department team.
The peach mango apple slices have been rolled out over the past year and are proving to be a marketplace hit. “The nose on it is just wonderful,” Freytag commented, adding that the slices tease the senses once the package is opened. “It’s the one of the kid items that’s been picked up by adults. All the taste profiles are standing out,” Freytag added.
Attendees will have a chance to sample the tropical treasures at the booth. Crunch Pak will also have a number of its other value-added apple slices at the show.
The company provides its customers with an array of packaging options ranging from smaller consumer sizes to larger foodservice and institutional packaging.
