Industry award winners to be honored at FNGLA annual meeting on June 15
Irv Betrock of Betrock Information Systems in Hollywood, FL, will be inducted into the Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association Hall of Fame for lifetime achievement in the nursery and landscape industry at the association’s annual meeting June 15 in Weston, FL. Awardees were announced in an April 17 FNGLA news release. The Hall of Fame award is one of the highest awards the association can bestow.
Also honored at the meeting will be Nancy G. McDonald of MGM Productions Inc. in Mount Dora, FL, who will receive the Wendell E. Butler Award for service to the association; and Jenn Helms-Shelley of Railroad Nursery Inc. in Homestead, FL, who will receive the Farm Credit/FNGLA Young Nursery Professional award.
Mary Schneider of the association’s Dade County chapter in Homestead, FL, will be named FNGLA Outstanding Volunteer at the meeting and two high school teachers, Keri Milligan of Oakleaf High School in Orange Park, FL, and Carl Wallack of South Plantation High School in Plantation, FL, will be honored as FNGLA Outstanding Educators.
Adam Putnam, commissioner of the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services in Tallahassee, FL, will be named the association’s Friend of the Industry; Vicky Parrish of Parrish Nursery Inc. in Parkland, FL, who heads the Broward County chapter, will be named Outstanding Chapter President, and Cindy Hall of Cobble Systems in Jensen Beach, FL, will be named Outstanding Chapter Secretary. Hall is secretary for the Treasure Coast chapter.
