Another great way to engage shoppers is through seasonal promotions. This fall, Bland Farms partnered with the Big Green Egg for the second year in a row for their Gameday Sweetness Sweepstakes. The promotion, which runs through the Super Bowl in February, engages shoppers through monthly giveaways on their social media channels, culminating in one fantastic grand prize — a Large Big Green Egg Grill complete with an integrated Nest + Handler and Mates Package, valued at $1,769. Gameday Sweetness allows retailers to capitalize on game day enthusiasm, driving sales and customer loyalty. But Bland Farms doesn’t stop at its efforts to support retailers. The largest grower, packer and shipper of Vidalia Sweet Onions takes its responsibility to its customers and the community seriously.
Bland Farms wrapped up October with pink packaging and its annual donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And November kicked off with a whole new wave of giving back. The company donated Premium Sweet Onions and Sand Candy Sweet Potatoes to The Crop Drop again this year. SEPC Cares along with the Society of St. Andrew parses more than 110,000 pounds of produce into family-size bags that are then loaded into the backs of agency vehicles to be transported to food pantries, homeless shelters and church dispensaries across the panhandle.
“As farmers, we know the value of feeding people,” said Troy Bland, CEO of Bland Farms. “Donating a portion of our harvest through SEPC and the Society of St. Andrew is about getting good, fresh produce to folks who need it most.”
As the holidays draw near, Bland Farms exemplifies the spirit of the season — from supplying the freshest holiday ingredients to inspiring the season of giving. This year, they’re bringing that same festive merriment and spirit of connection to the New York Produce Show, uniting the industry in holiday cheer. Let this holiday season inspire you to savor every moment, share generously, and create lasting memories with the ones who matter most.
