Jersey Fresh at the Jersey Shore events gain momentum

Jersey Fresh is returning to the famous Jersey Shore this season to provide healthy snack seekers with fresh, local produce and fun Jersey Fresh swag. This has been a great campaign of promotional events allowing consumers from the tri-state area and up and down the East Coast to taste the best Jersey has to offer. The biggest question we get after they try their complimentary giveaway is, “where can I buy more?”

jersey freshThe Jersey Fresh team has been visiting the Jersey boardwalks for the past few seasons to distribute pints of the biggest, most flavorful blueberries and bags of the sweetest, juiciest peaches. Visitors to our tent were also able to spin a prize wheel and win Jersey Fresh giveaways perfect for use at the beach such as koozies, baseball hats, reusable shopping bags or lip balm.

At first, the shore towns were a bit hesitant as to whether this was a good idea. Would people really wait in a line for fruit? Yes, of course. Who wouldn’t want some of the very best, locally-grown, freshest produce to snack on while playing in the sand or to use in desserts or drinks once relaxing at the house? Turns out thousands agreed. Adults and kids alike were excited to line up for free berries or peaches and a prize. We even made many friends who return to visit us each year and others who finished eating their fruit while walking the boards and came back to tell us just how amazingly delicious they were.

In 2022, we introduced a 3rd giveaway day. Of course, it had to be one of our other famous Jersey fruits — or veggies, you debate — Jersey tomatoes. So, for the first-time last summer, we distributed pints of plump, tasty, Jersey grape tomatoes.

This season, we will return with blueberries, tomatoes and peaches that have been grown right here in the Garden State. We’ll be set up and ready to promote and celebrate our hard-working farmers and the incredibly delicious produce they grow starting at 1 p.m. at the dates listed below until supplies last on the boardwalks of Wildwood, Atlantic City and Seaside Heights. We also will be adding new giveaways to the mix this year — sunglasses and rally towels.

• Blueberries: July 10 (in honor of National Blueberry Month)

• Tomatoes: August 7 (in honor of National Farmers Market Week)

• Peaches: August 22 (National Eat a Peach Day)

Follow Jersey Fresh on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for all the details. See you at the Jersey Shore, and be sure to source Jersey Fresh produce from your favorite Garden State growers because consumers will be looking for it.
