The 2012 farm bill could reach the U.S. Senate floor as early as June if Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has her way.

The produce industry will have to keep a close eye on developments in Capitol Hill next month as Sen. Stabenow says S. 3240, the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012, may be scheduled for floor action as early as June 5.

“We’ll be offering three-pound bags, 12 bags per box, under the ‘Suwannee River Sweets’ label,” Mr. Bell said. “There is a growing market for these bags, with Thanksgiving and Christmas bringing the strongest demand. We’ll now be able to accommodate our customers with an item that will help them to increase sales.”
