The first of T&G Global’s premium new season Jazz apples are being shipped to global markets, as warm and sunny weather conditions bring a rich colour, full flavour and earlier harvest than usual for the snack-on-the-go fruit.

Smoky Mountain Family Farms, a premium tomato farming operation, announced the acquisition of Triple C Family Farms of Midway, TN and a strategic plan for expansion. Production has tripled heading into the 2021 season with the acquisition.

Since beginning their partnership in SMFF in spring 2020, the Pappas, Esformes and Hellers, three fourth-generation tomato farming and distribution families, have created a unique opportunity to showcase eastern Tennessee agriculture. Executing on one part of their strategic expansion, they have purchased Triple C Family Farms.

Zespri’s leadership continues to evolve as plans emerge to meet the growing demand of Zespri SunGold kiwifruit. As part of the expansion plan, Zespri will establish a New York office in 2022 to supplement its West Coast presence. Dan Riley will assume the responsibilities from Glen Arrowsmith as market manager North America in addition to launching the New York office. Arrowsmith will transition from the North American team mid-year relocating back to New Zealand.
