Stemilt celebrates free family clinic results on 10th anniversary
Stemilt is celebrating a milestone in advancing employee wellness this year with the 10th anniversary of its on-site family health clinic, implemented in 2015. Stemilt Director of People Experience Zach Williams said the Stemilt Family Clinic has played a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of Stemilt’s workforce and their families and shares new results of its impact over time.
“The clinic is one of the most impactful investments we’ve made in our people,” said Williams. “The Stemilt Family Clinic’s accessible model has led to strong results, particularly in managing chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, where employees show high rates of compliance and ongoing engagement in their health plans. Since its inception, the clinic has had a 16 percent higher control rate for diabetes than the average for clinics in the region. It also has a 90 percent prescription fill rate vs. the 50 percent national fill rate. This ensures that employees have access to the medications they need, rather than foregoing treatment due to cost.”
What began as a small step towards advancing healthcare at Stemilt has blossomed into a vital resource that employees utilize daily. Before the Stemilt Family Clinic opened at Stemilt’s Euclid location in partnership with the health care organization, Confluence Health, in 2015, it launched a pilot program. Anovaworks, an occupational health and wellness provider, and Stemilt joined forces to offer immediate treatment for workplace injuries, onsite hearing and vision testing, and care for minor illnesses and health concerns at its Olds Station office.
“Over the past 10 years, Stemilt has provided two resources dedicated to supporting the well-being of our employees, otherwise known as Stemilters,” said Williams. “For those in need of quick, thorough care, they can go to the Anovaworks clinic, and for long-term, primary care, they can meet with their provider at the Stemilt Family Clinic. These services have been beneficial in retaining and attracting talent, especially during cherry season. Knowing that they can have their health care needs met conveniently onsite, 96 percent of H2A seasonal employees return year after year.”
The Stemilt Family Clinic provides Stemilters and their immediate dependents with free, primary health care and prescriptions. In collaboration with Confluence Health over the past decade, the clinic has expanded its team of providers to meet growing demand.
“At Stemilt, it’s important to us that our employees come to work not having to worry about how they’re going to keep themselves and their family healthy and well,” said Williams. “As we celebrate 10 years of the Stemilt Family Clinic, we celebrate our team members who are the heart of Stemilt. We plan to continue ensuring they have convenient access to healthcare as part of our long-term commitment to supporting the people behind World Famous Fruit.”
