RedLine Solutions releases FastPack for MyProduce
RedLine Solutions announced the availability of MyProduce version 5.0, a watershed release for the software that includes a major new feature called FastPack.
FastPack handles receiving, packing and moving finished goods into inventory all into a few simple steps. With the ability to print on-demand or pre-print batches of both case and pallet labels, FastPack is designed to optimize both field-packed and direct-packed workflows—all with full FSMA Section 204 data collection and reporting compliance built in.
“FastPack is the result of our field-packed and pack-on-receipt workflow analysis,” said Ross Lambert, director of software development at RedLine. “Packing in the field or pack-on-receipt have significantly different workflows than receiving and packing from bulk storage and potentially separate locations. This configuration is optimized for these unique packing environments.”
As a result, label printing for FastPack has been totally redesigned to drive efficiency. In both field-packed and pack-on-receipt workflows, customers often pre-print large batches of both case and pallet labels.
Field packed operations take the labels out into the field, whereas direct packers keep them near dock doors or scales. With FastPack, when the packed produce is scanned at receiving, the pallet label data is matched to its harvest plan and added to inventory along with the associated traceability data.
Matching the scanned label to its harvest plan radically reduces the amount of data entry required and significantly reduces the opportunity for error.
Labels can be reprinted as needed, and without fear of duplicate IDs; the software will not put the same pallet ID into inventory more than once.
FastPack also provides the status of all pallets it has created according to Todd Baggett, RedLine’s president.
“The new Pallet Details tracking screen tells you in real-time which pallet IDs have been printed as well as which pallets have been received and scanned into inventory,” said Baggett. “The MyProduce Zebra device client supports mobile scanning and can even capture pallet weights, which are stored for use in the shipping process.”
FastPack is available immediately and at no extra cost for existing MyProduce customers.
